This session, or these sessions I should say, were great! Andrew’s original date that we scheduled got rained out. So, we had him and his mom come to the house anyway to get the studio portion done. It all worked out wonderfully! I must say, it is nice splitting the outside and inside portion of a session between two days. The senior has a little breather between the two and it was nice knowing we could take our time and really get some awesome photographs!

Jennifer and Charles were adorable!
When Jennifer called me a few months ago to book this session, I was thinking to myself, “wow, here’s a girl that knows what she wants and plans ahead!” Boy, did the months fly by! It’s always exciting when a couple is expecting their first child. I can honestly say, it is an honor to be a part of the experience, knowing that they will be looking back at these portraits remembering the excitement and anticipation of the first addition to their family.
I have so many more favorites. But, the couple is saving those just for themselves!

Okay, so we got in a bit of trouble this morning taking this picture.
To our surprise, you need a memo to take pictures anywhere on base. We were originally thinking the rules were the same as on any other base (pictures of anything but the flight line and the front gate are fine). Imagine our curiosity when the base police came
We photographers are always getting into trouble! I never would have thought taking pictures was such an issue when I originally decided that I wanted to get a photography degree.
In any case, before we were asked to leave
we got our picture! I decided to take four exposures so that I could do an HDR later when we got home. I think it turned out wicked. I used HDR Efex Pro, which I finally purchased today. It’s the best HDR software that I’ve used, so it was well worth the money. I used the program to make two versions of the image, one for the sky and one for the foreground. Then I blended the two.
I also did a lot more effects, tonal adjustments, curves, saturation changes etc. I wanted to give it a painted feel.
Here’s the final product…
Too MANY Kittens! ~ Rosie Warner Photography ~

I find myself currently overwhelmed with kittens!
Our mama kitty had a little of six kittens five weeks ago! They truly are little ankle biters! They see feet and instinctively think if they nibble a little bit they’ll get picked up and cuddled, which I suppose is the case…
We have found a home for two of them so far. The two gentlemen that came to pick them up seemed like they would provide a loving home for them. Thank goodness! Now for the other four! Anyone interested, give me a call! We are selling them for $40 each to make sure no one picks one up for their pet snake… people do that apparently!
This one’s my cuddle bunny… she loves to be held and gives lots of kisses…
We call this one big kitty, because he’s HUGE! His paws are twice the size of all the others!
This one is old man kitty! He came out, eyes open and moving around like an older cat! It was kinda creapy… he has always been the smartest of the bunch. His face reminds me of an old man for some reason also, and the fuzzy hair
About 3 days ago now, this poor pathetic little girl showed up crying outside our garage. We left her alone for a night, but she’s stuck around for some reason. She so badly wants to be a part of the goings on of the other kitties, but is too skiddish for her own good. She seems to be calming down after her flea bath, flea medicine and lots of forced lap time! lol!
She’s free to a good home! We figure she’s a big large to feed to a snake! I hope! Age? My guess is four months for less…
This is our baby… no he’s not for sale. We think his daddy must be a Ragdoll. He is the sweetest thing. When the new litter of kittens arrived, I was worried he’d try to kill them or accidentally kill them by playing with them to rough. To my surprise, he was quite the big brother, helping mama with the cleaning and nap time… He never hisses or bites and is so nice to the stray kitten
Mama kitty… dun dun dun… She’s a fierce killer, but loves her people. I don’t think there is ever a time when this lady isn’t purring! I’m not sure if that’s normal for a cat
Well, that’s the gang! I put this up for my mom. She insisted on pictures!

The Highland Bullets!
Yes, I’ve gotten a little behind on the blog! It seems like there is never enough time in the day! Though, it’s really a good thing, because it means I’m staying busy.
Last Tuesday, I had the opportunity to take the team pictures and a few individual portraits for the Highland Bullets. Though it had just down poured, the weather cleared up for a nice hour segment for us to get their mini photo session squared away. The boys were too funny heckling each other while they were “up to bat” and I think most of them got their white baseball pants muddy by the end! Sorry about that moms! I suppose they look worse after a game though…

Let’s just say, I’m a little crazy when it comes to photography.
The night before the big trip to Disney World with my brother and
his family and my sister and her family, I had the opportunity to shoot some
awesome baseball portraits. So, even though I had to drive four hours that
evening to get to Warrensburg Missouri to catch a six o’clock flight from
Kansas City, I said, “of course I can do it!”
We got done shooting at 8pm, I had everything uploaded to
the computer and was ready to drive by 9pm. Got to Warrensburg at 1:30 am, left
Warrensburg at 4am to catch our 6am flight… I was exhausted by that evening!
Now, I wouldn’t normally fly out of Kansas City, or go on a
Disney Vacation with my brother’s family. The situation was that my brother had
planned a big family vacation for this summer and, being military, a week after
everything was booked he got deployment orders. Everything being
non-refundable, they asked me to go in his place and help out his wife with the
two and four year old girls! So I took his flight with his family out of Kansas
City! The funny thing of it is, he still wound up being able to go and was able
to meet us at Disney World. Turns out that the break between pre-deployment
training and the actual deployment fell right on the days he had planned his
family vacation… It just figures, doesn’t it? In any case, they got some great
vacation photography out of it, which is to come later…
For now, Baseball!

Couples Session
This was a fun session that my good friend and photographer, Courtney Tompson, had me second shoot. I was a balloon holder, light holder, and one-handed photographer! Though one-handed at times, I got quite a few fun shots to play with!
Fried Rice Recipe ~Rosie Warner Photography~

I have been asked a few times for this recipe and am finally getting around to posting it. When I was originally asked, I didn’t realize that all my recipe entailed was a list of ingredients on a 3″x3″ scrap piece of paper. So… I had to make the rice for dinner one night and see just how much of everything I was throwing in the pan. Don’t worry about the amounts a whole lot. If you like more carrots, add more carrots etc. This recipe is a great one though! I’ve never been able to make a good fried rice until I became a nanny and the little boy’s Grandma showed me how to make it. She was originally from China and an EXCELLENT cook! I wish I had more time before it got eaten to take a good picture… for now, this will have to do! I assure you, it will taste great either way!
Hope you enjoy!

Ingredients
white rice (any long grained rice will do… do not use sticky rice) ~1/4-1/2 cup or more
soy sauce
Directions
Start by getting everything ready. Once your first item is in the pot, it goes
extremely fast.
Make
2 cups uncooked rice per package directions.
Cut up chicken into small cubes, pat dry with paper towels. Get as much moisture
out of the chicken as you can. Place in a small bowl and coat with corn starch,
sesame oil and soy sauce. Set aside.
Chop up one onion. Cut carrots into strips… I do this by first cutting the carrot in
half and then into fourths lengthwise… then cut those into one inch strips. You
want them to be just thick enough to stay a bit crunchy when the dish is
finished.
Thaw and set peas aside.
Get your largest skillet and fry 4-5 strips of bacon until crispy. Once they are
done, remove them from the pan and set on a paper towel. This will allow them
to dry enough to crumble later. Save about 2 tablespoons of the bacon grease in
the pan. If there seems to be a lot of bacon grease, feel free to dab some out
with a paper towel.
In the bacon grease, fry your chicken over high heat. You should hear lots of sizzling
and it should cook in five to ten minutes. Once chicken is all the way cooked,
push to the side of the pan, spray pam over the open section of the pan and
Quickly add the onion, in a clean section of the pan, you may need to add some pam or
canola oil if pan is too dry. After onions have had a minute or two to cook and
are clear but not brown, add the carrots, cook until carrots are slightly
tender but still crunchy.
Add your eggs, scramble and add some soy sauce until it’s lightly brown and some
black pepper to taste. While eggs are still a bit runny, but not raw, mix into
the chicken, onions and carrots.
Lower the heat and add the cooked rice and crumbled bacon. Add soy sauce to taste,
add thawed peas.
You’re done!
