Allison & Jerry–#6 Couples — Rosie Warner

This was a crazy shoot. The pocket wizards were not working properly, we didn’t have much time before dark, and I was covered in poison ivy… All in all, I guess you could say it went pretty good. Thanks to Allison and Jerry for helping me out with this! I really appreciate it!

In Class Shoot (7/22/08) Food – Rosie Warner

For these shots we had a food stylist come in and set up some dishes for the class. We did some quick high key with 3 Alien Bee lights, a reflector, and a white backdrop. It was a fun shoot and it made everyone quite hungry. In the end, we ate our props…

Assignment 2; Reflector/Subtractive (Updated)

I reshot this assignment because I wasn’t completely happy with the results. This time around, we went out around 7pm and used a reflector. I think the results were much more dramatic. I also had a better idea of how to ask Sam to pose for me. To be completely honest, since I’m a newby, I had no idea what I wanted Sam to do or how I wanted her to pose the first time around! I did take a little extra time with these; I airbrushed some spots and increased the saturation in her eyes a bit… I’m much happier with how these turned out…

[Below was the original shoot. I did update the pictures and make some corrections that were suggested in class. The suggestions in class helped a great deal. I cropped closer in and airbrushed a few like I did above.]

For this assignment, we were to use subtractive lighting. Samantha was not only beautiful, but wonderful enough to help me out in a pinch. Thanks Sam! Here are some of my favorites…

Portrait Assignment #1- Window Light- Rosie Warner

For this assignment, we were to use north window light, and a reflector. I used a silver reflector for this.  Jason was kind enough to model for me. I did a bit of work on these in Lightroom. I’ll add a brief description of what I did… You can view more of this set by viewing my flickr slideshow

For these first few, I used the preset “Direst Positive,” increased the exposure a hair and vignetted the edges a tad.

For some variation, I tried something different and used Selenium Tone, sepia, and grey scale. I also adjusted the tone curve in Lightroom to get the contrast the way I wanted it.

These next few, I left alone for the most part. I did use the “punch” preset in lightroom, darkened the darks using the tone curve, and vignetted the edges.
